Trace versus bulk chemotherapy waste
Trace chemo waste is anything that held a chemotherapy agent and is now empty, meaning less than 3% of the original volume remains. It goes in a dedicated yellow container and is incinerated. Anything with more residual is bulk chemo waste and is managed as RCRA hazardous waste.
